Cities are increasingly facing climate-related disasters, environmental degradation, and social inequalities, highlighting the urgent need to build resilience and integrate risk reduction into their sustainable development strategies. Recognizing cities as frontline actors in disaster mitigation, a consortium including AIT RRC.AP, UNDRR, UN-Habitat, UCLG, and ICLEI has partnered to support the Making Cities Resilient 2030 (MCR2030) initiative—a 10-year global effort to strengthen urban resilience. Through series of thematic webinars and peer learning, the initiative promotes new tools, approaches, and city experiences to enhance preparedness, with special focus on how the climate crisis intersects with education, health, and inclusive urban development.
This webinar aims to accelerate local resilience by sharing experiences, best practices, and innovative approaches to disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation.
Target Participants: City and local government officials, UN agencies, international non-governmental organizations (INGOs), civil society organization officials, urban planners, disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation experts, practitioners, and academia.

Built upon the success of the programs in 2024, we are happy to organize the trip for potential collaborations to Chongqing, China again this year on the topic of Energy Transition, Carbon Reduction Efforts and Sustainable Development.
This program is co-organized by AIT BRRC and Chongqing Renewable Energy Society (CRES), for AIT Alumni/members and Non-AIT alumni/members to carry out in-depth industrial and technology exchange in China, especially from the energy and green technology related field. 2) Global Giant Prawn Leaders Unite in Huzhou, China
The GIANT PRAWN 2025 Conference, seventh edition of the top global conference for freshwater prawn farming (Macrobrachium spp.), is set for June 8-11, 2025, at the Dongwu New Century Grand Hotel Huzhou in Zhejiang Province, China. It will be organized by the Aquaculture Program of Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, and Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU), China, in collaboration with the Zhejiang Institute of Freshwater Fisheries (ZIFF) and Huzhou University, China. GIANT PRAWN 2025 marks the next big event in this prestigious series, following the 2023 conference hosted by AIT in Bangkok in 2023. Designed to advance sustainable aquaculture practices and promote global collaboration in freshwater prawn farming, GP 2025 is focused on the theme “Navigating Innovation and Sustainability in Giant Prawn Aquaculture”.

- Technical Sessions: Covering key topics such as hatchery technology, grow-out systems, genomics, nutrition, health management, marketing strategies, and new-age prawn farming systems and practices.
