2) Join Us in Saving Energy at your dorm & Reduce your Carbon Footprint – Energy Conservation Campaign at AIT!

We are excited to invite you to be a part of our Phase-2 of our Energy Conservation Awareness Campaign (ECAC), running from October 10th to November 9th, 2024! Let’s unite as a community to reduce energy usage, save on our bills, and most importantly, lower our individual and collective carbon footprints, while contributing to our Net Zero Campus Vision. 


Why Participate?

 

Did you know that in 2022, residential users in Thailand accounted for 27.2% of the country's total electrical energy consumption? Interestingly, Thailand has a 7%-20% potential for energy reduction, simply through households small behavioral changes. By making minor adjustments in our daily habits, such as turning off unused appliances, reducing excess energy consumption, making smarter energy choices and using energy efficient equipment, we can achieve significant savings and contribute to a greener future. OSC takes this opportunity to encourage AITians to save energy in your office space, common workspaces, classrooms and even toilets by turning off all the electrical equipment when not in use.

AIT has published its Annual Report 2023 and Sustainability Report 2023.

The AIT Annual Report 2023 highlights the Institute’s continued success in forging productive partnerships and achieving impactful milestones with esteemed global collaborators.

The AIT Sustainability Report 2023 showcases the Institute’s ongoing dedication to aligning its activities with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

5) Personal data for 2024 Income Tax calculation

Dear AIT employees, 

In order to ensure that your personal income tax complies with the Tax Regulations, it is important for us to have accurate records of your personal data in our system. Please log in to the following web link https://hris.ait.ac.th using your AIT email account credentials, and click on "View Employee Profile" to update your personal data.

Please kindly review and update the following as needed. 

1. Contact information:  personal phone number and residence address

2. Passport number and details of your dependents. Please ensure that the information regarding your child and spouse in the system is up to date. If they are studying or working in Thailand or abroad, kindly update the system accordingly. 

3. Next of Kin: make sure that you have provided all the necessary details in the "Next of Kin" section. The next of kin should not be the same person listed as your direct dependent in HRIS. In the event of an emergency when you are incapacitated or if there are no other family members with you, the next of kin will be contacted by AIT.

Any changes in your personal data from the previous to the current year should be supported with documents in hard copies. These include passport copy, marriage certificate, child's birth certificate, house registration as well as receipts of investment in retirement mutual fund (RMF), personal health insurance, and personal long-term life insurance. For more information about tax deductions and allowances, click this link.

Please submit it to Khun Lalana in the Office of Human Resources Services (OHRS), Room 223, Second Floor of the Administration Building by 11 October 2024. 

 

6) 1st AIT Career Forum, 6 November 2024, AIT Conference Center

 Dear AIT Community, 

We are excited to announce that the 1st ever AIT Career Forum is on 6 November 2024 at the AIT Conference Center from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This inaugural event combines the AIT Career Talk and Career Fair, taking place simultaneously at the same location. Participating companies will have a unique opportunity to conduct presentations and meet with AIT students for interviews, FREE of charge. Companies or organizations eligible to participate will be hiring from November 2024 to January 2025 or have upcoming job openings.

Participating companies can choose whether or not to conduct a forum. For those that do, they will be allocated a one-hour time slot based on their registration for the event. After the forum, they will meet interested AIT student applicants at the RBB Auditorium for initial screenings. Companies that opt not to conduct a forum will stay in a designated area from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m..

3) International Workshop on Climate-Smart Agriculture (29-30 October 2024)

We would like to remind you about the deadline for submissions of extended abstract for the upcoming International Workshop on Climate–Smart Agriculture: Best Practices and Lessons Learned, scheduled to take place from 29 to 30 October 2024 at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Conference Centre, AIT, Pathum Thani, Thailand.

This international workshop is part of the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Technical Assistance (TA-9993) to Thailand, in Nan Province, on Climate Change Adaptation in Agriculture for Enhanced Recovery and Sustainability of Highlands.

The 2-day international workshop will address multifaceted aspects of climate-smart agriculture with an overall aim to provide a platform for exchanging innovative ideas, technologies, and methodologies, fostering stakeholder collaboration and networking, and catalyzing the adoption of climate-smart agriculture practices in highland regions. It will also share the experience gained from the implementation of the TA-9993 in Nan province of Thailand.

Extended Abstracts are invited from organizations and professionals working in climate-smart and sustainable agriculture in HIGHLANDS. The abstract should be directly aligned with one or more themes and subthemes of the workshop and must not exceed 1000 words. It should be based on existing/completed work and not on proposed work. Furthermore, submissions that focus on practical implementation promoting evidence-based technology adoption and policy outcomes will be given preference. The work must focus on HIGHLAND AGRICULTURE.
