A. Announcements

 

(i) New AIT Brochure
Email from OMCO (29 Mar. 2019)
 
This is to inform AIT faculty and staff members that a new AIT brochure has been published. Copies of the brochure are being handed out to the concerned offices/units by the Office of the President.
 
From now onwards, please use the new AIT brochure, and kindly stop using the old brochures.

 

(ii) CALL FOR JJWBGSP SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS IS OPEN

The call for the world bank Scholarship applications is now open and the deadline is 11 April 2019 for August 2019 Intake.

If any applicants apply for this scholarship, please request program/department to process their application as soon as possible so that potential applicants can submit our offer letter to world bank together with their require documents.

FYI:  Last four years, we have been requesting World bank to add our other academic programs under the world bank scholarship. However, they always refused to add more program rather asking us to reduce our current programs listed under the world bank scholarship.
 
Preferred Master Degree Program universities list has been reduced since 2011. In 2011, there were 72 universities listed. In 2019 only 49 universities are listed including AIT.
 
 

(iii) Schedule of Dr. Chuenchom Chueluecha (Rehabilitation Physician) this week

As discussed in the Admissions Committee meeting, AIT Language Center (LC) will offer EET (English Entry Test) testing at 9AM on selected Sundays in March to May as follows:

On campus
April: 7
May: 5 / 12

At SOM Bangkok Campus
April: 28

For the special weekend testing, it is important that applicants register online 3 working days or earlier before their chosen weekend testing  (Wednesday before the selected testing Sunday). Applicants can pay for the test (800 bht) through a bank transfer using the following information:

(c) SPECAL TALK on FULL SCHOLARSHIP opportunities at AIT partner Northwestern Polytechnical University, China: 2 Apr.2019

A team consist of 6 faculty members from different schools of AIT partner university Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), Xi’an, China, will give a Special Talk at AIT on Tuesday 2 April 2019, offering 15 full postgraduate level scholarships for AIT students for further postgraduate studies at NPU in China.

• Delegation from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, led by Prof. Stefan Ostlund, Vice President, Global Relations / 1 April 2019 / to develop possible collaboration between KTH and AIT; to discuss aspects of the partnership for 2019 and beyond; and to deliver a special talk by the KTH Vice President, Global Relations, to AIT faculty members, staff, and students.

 

 

 

D. Campus Updates

 

 (i) Schedule for repair of rooftop at PPT and ST-11 building 23 March to 7 April

Email from OFAM (20 Mar. 2019)

Please be informed that the subcontractor will start the repair of rooftop at PPT building (additional work) and ST-11 building as per the below schedule. During this time, their maybe loud noise, smell and dust due to the repair of rooftop. So, people working / living in PPT and ST-11 are requested to close their doors and windows of the rooms properly.

- Dismantle the old materials on the rooftop: 29 Mar. – 2 Apr.
- Prepare the surface and adjust level on the rooftop: 3 – 4 Apr.
- Fill 1st layer with chemical polyurethane – 1st step: 5 – 6 Apr.
- Fill 2nd layer with chemical polyurethane 2nd step: 7 Apr.

 

(ii) Installation of new LED street light in the residential area from 1 April

Please be informed that the contractor will start the installation of new LED street light project in the residential area from 1 April and is scheduled to complete by 6 May 2019. The street light installation work is planned for, route-1 and route-2 as shown in the maps below and following is the schedule plan for the project. 

During this time there might be loud noise and few areas might be closed due to the renovation work. So, people living around that area are requested to be careful when passing through those areas. We request your kind cooperation on this.
