(i)   A SALUTE TO THE 661 PATRONS OF AIT LIBRARY MODERNIZATION

Message from President (12 May 2018)

27 April 2018

The following texts are extracted from my report to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn during the inauguration of the newly modernized library.

“If it were not for the big floods, this 37-year-old AIT Library would have continued to be a static collection of books and documents, and likely become a dinosaur in the digital age. We were able to galvanize the faithful participation of AIT community members, friends and partners in presenting this wonderful gift to our beloved institute.

This generous donation overall - not only allowed AIT to afford the luxury of a modern library, but also saved institute’s own fund for its new equipment acquisition, renovation of its 45-year-old infrastructure, and still enough fund for some campus facelifts.”

(iv) Closure of AIT's CITI BANK US$ Account on 30 June 2018

Email from Finance Office (11 May 2018)

Please be informed that AIT’s Citibank US$ account at New York will be closed by 30th of June 2018. This is not our preference but as AIT has not reached a minimum deposit with the bank (due to most of AIT incoming money nowadays go directly to AIT local baht account), hence Citibank is not able to retain AIT’s account open in the long-term.

AITMT had been informed and already approved the closing of the account.

Please make sure to inform your partners/donors/students that the payment option to Citibank in US$ is no longer available with immediate effect. The intervening period from now until the closing date of AIT’s Citibank US$ account, 30th of June 2018, should be sufficient for any bank drafts/transfers in the pipeline.

At current, AIT has a US$ bank account at Kasikornbank. This can be used as a replacement of Citibank NY account in the future, if needed. However, we would like to encourage any collection of payments in the future be in the form of money transfer to AIT local baht account, instead of bank draft. It normally takes a much longer period for US$ bank draft clearance, from the day AIT deposit the draft until money deposited to AIT account, which could be months.

If you foresee any problems of the closing date of the Citibank account by 30th June 2018, please let us know immediately.
