Last Message from Outgoing SU President

Dear All,

I am writing this last mail as the president of the Student Union of this great institute. Before handing over the task to my Vice President, Mr. Ye Wana Hlaing, I have to thank a lot of people in the administration without whose support the tenure would not have been possible.

First and Foremost, I express my sincere thanks to Professor Kumar and Khun Laarni for being my immediate supervisors. I have always consulted them in case of any issues and have got positive feedback from their side. I am extremely thankful towards President Prof. Worsak for his leadership and his support towards SU. I would also like to thank VPAA and Career Center (Khun Carla) for sponsoring the Research Exhibition. My tenure would not have been so successful without the support and helping hands from the three deans and UG Coordinator. I would like to thank them for providing us with financial help in running some academic activities and also allowing us to use class rooms and helping us with professors in our programs. I would like to thank all the faculty and staff members for their support through the semester. I am also extremely grateful towards Mr. Karma Rana and Khun Kulvimol in supporting us and arranging our meeting with BoT Student Relation Committee. AIT Alumni office has been a great help in terms of arranging meetings and helping us financially as well as with suggestions. Khun Carla has always provided us with great suggestions and advice in many situations. I would also like to thank Khun Nam and Khun Marlou for always prioritizing our request and arranging meetings. I have got to learn so much by being a member of BoT, CRC, ARUC and Steering Committee and I thank all the members of all the committees.

Our events would not have been in the newsletter and publicity without the help of Mr. Shawn Kelly and Mr. Bajinder Singh.  I am also very grateful towards MCU, ERCO, AIT Extension, AIT Consulting, GRU, Finance etc for their helping hand. I am very grateful towards Khun Chalita, Khun Beth, Khun Sireesha and entire OFAM team. I always ran to them with student complains and they always put students concerns in top priority and advised me with suggestions. I am very pleased towards Khun Chalita and her support during her tenure as the OFAM head. Even though I did not work much with Khun Jaistit, he has always been supporting us in the activities. My tenure would not have been possible without the help of the contractors like SNSS, Landscape Team, Pro Maid, AITCC, Security Guards etc. I would also like to specially thank Khun Sophon for his tiring efforts to full student demands. I am also extremely thankful towards Khun Patcharee and her team for their help during student accommodation process.

I along with my team members have tried our best to address the student concerns and have always prioritized student needs. We as a team worked with integrity and have always tried to organize activities externally so AIT’s name could be lightened. I am extremely delighted to have served in this position because it was a big challenge and a learning experience for me and I am stepping down with a lot of memories and relationships with people. Me and my entire team are thankful towards each and every member associated with this institute and please apologize me if I forgot to mention anybody’s name in my mail. I will continue to serve AIT in the capacity of a student and I hope the new Student Union team will do their best in addressing student concerns and organizing activities.

Thank you and Advance Christmas and New Year Greetings to you, your family and friends.

Best Regards,

Abhishek Bahadur Shah

SU President
