v) Call for volunteer for the Hult Prize Regional Summit Bangkok - AIT
E-mail sent from Entrepreneurship Center on 28 January 2020.

Dear AIT Staffs and Students,

Regional Summit in Thailand on 6-7 March 2020.
Established in 2009, Hult Prize is the world’s largest student competition and the most prestigious award of the planet for the creation of new social enterprises. Each year, the Hult Prize team issues a big bold challenge aligned with a large market opportunity inspiring students from over 121 countries to solve its greatest problem.
AIT had successfully organized the Hult Prize On-Campus Program in October 2019 and now we are partnering with Hult Prize Foundation for the Regional Summit. A total of twenty-two Regional Summits will take place around the world in March and April, and ours is scheduled on 6-7 March 2020. We expect attendance of around 200-250 students (On-Campus winners) from different countries as well as more than 25 speakers and judges from across the globe.

The Regional Summits provide students from around the world an opportunity to showcase their innovative ideas, learn from their peers and be inspired by a generation of young people who are committed to changing the world through business. The very best startups represented at each summit secure a spot in the world’s largest impact accelerator in Boston, Massachusetts, in June, as they compete to be one of six teams who will compete at the United Nations finals in September.

We would like to invite you to participate as volunteers for the Hult Prize Regional Summit.

Kindly please fill in the online form to confirm your participation.

(c) EL course schedule for the January 2020 Semester
Email from AIT Language Center (7 Jan. 2020)

The registration for Academic English (EL) classes for the January 2020 Semester is now open. Please click here and choose from the available time slots (AIT login is required) before the deadline on Friday 17 January 2020 (Adding/Dropping). Classes start on 22 January 2020.

Students with English scores below AIT’s admission requirements will be automatically enrolled in the mandatory English Language (EL) courses listed below. Students will need to pay a registration fee at the AIT Cashier for EL courses. The EL course level will be automatically assigned based on a student’s current English score:
5.0 - EL15 Intermediate English Composition
5.5 - EL19 Academic and Technical Writing

English course fee: 3,000 Baht one-time flat fee to all newly enrolled students. This is extra from the 2,000 Baht one-time flat fee for Language Support that all new students are required to pay.

The EL courses should be your first priority, therefore scheduling problems and conflicts are not valid reasons to request to unregister from the EL courses. To unregister from the course during a given semester, you will need to submit a memo requesting the EL exemption on a semester basis stating clearly that you intend to join in the following semester. Should you wish to drop the course completely and submit a standardized test score (IELTS or TOEFL), you can do so by submitting a memo stating clearly that you will submit a satisfactory writing score (6 or higher) from a standardized test before thesis credit enrollment. Please note that once you declare this, you will not be allowed to take the AIT English test to fulfil your English requirements.
For January 2020 Semester, memos will need to be approved by your advisor and submitted to and approved by the Language Center before 17 January 2020 (AIT adding/dropping date). If you fail to drop the EL course you are enrolled in before 7 February, you will still be invoiced and graded for the EL course you have enrolled.

As you have been informed during the orientation, AIT maintains a strict policy on English language requirements. Students who have not met the English language requirements by the third semester of study will not be allowed to register for thesis or research credits.
