To help you more understand and easy to manage your citation and reference list, we are pleased to invite you to join our online workshop on "Reference Data Management for Research," which will be held on 25 March 2022 from 1 – 2.30 PM (Bangkok Time).

Join this session, you will learn about:

  •  What is Mendeley
  •  Easy start and how to set up
  •  Information management: how to organize references
  •  Read literature: use Mendeley to help you read and organize ideas
  •  Cite as you write: use Mendeley to help you create a bibliography list for your thesis

4) Workshop on "Food Innovation and the SDGs" on Friday, 25 March 2022

We would like to cordially invite the students and staffs to participate in the one-day workshop on the theme "Food Innovation and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)", organized by the Food Innovation, Nutrition, and Health (FINH) Academic program, Department of Food, Agriculture and Bioresources (FAB), School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD). The event consists of a talk program by invited experts followed by brainstorming sessions and pitching based on the workshop theme.

Workshop overview:

This workshop will widen the understanding of challenges and emerging technologies in food systems to achieve some of the relevant sustainable development goals (SDGs). Food system innovations will be instrumental to achieving multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, major innovation breakthroughs can trigger profound and disruptive changes, leading to simultaneous and interlinked reconfigurations of multiple parts of the global food system. The emergence of new technologies or social solutions, therefore, have very different impact profiles, with favourable consequences for some SDGs and unintended adverse side-effects for others. Stand-alone innovations seldom achieve positive outcomes over multiple sustainability dimensions. Instead, they should be embedded as part of systemic changes that facilitate the implementation of the SDGs. Emerging trade-offs need to be intentionally addressed to achieve true sustainability, particularly those involving social aspects like inequality in its many forms, social justice, and strong institutions, which remain challenging. Trade-offs with undesirable consequences are manageable through the development of well-planned transition pathways, careful monitoring of key indicators, and through the implementation of transparent science targets at the local level.

This workshop is organized under the project "Food Processing Innovation (FOODI)". FOODI is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme specifically to develop capacity building for higher education in South East Asia (SEA), especially incorporating cutting-edge technologies and innovation management in food processing with a view to turning the local food processing sector into a driver of social and economic growth. The FOODI consortium consists of 16 Institutions including 6 from EU and 10 from SEA.

Date: Friday, 25 March 2022
Time: 08:30-17:30hrs (Bangkok time)
