In this issue:
1) Join Us for AITS Meet the Expert by Engr. Masayuki SHOUBUZAKO and Engr. Rupesh MACHAMASHI, EJIT Center on 26 April 2022
We are pleased to invite you to the Meet the Expert by Engr. Masayuki SHOUBUZAKO, Group sub-manager, Infrastructure Technology Group, EJIT Center / Infrastructure Maintenance Management Department and Engr. Rupesh MACHAMASHI, Staff, Infrastructure Technology Group, EJIT Center on 26th April 2022 (1.00 PM Bangkok time).
In Japan, the number of over 50 years aged bridges are increasing year by year. For this reason, the importance of maintenance is increasing as regular inspections are required by law once every five years in Japan. In the future, the maintenance of bridges will be necessary to continue in various Asian countries.
However, in recent years, there have been major issues such as a shortage of bridge inspection engineers, its aging, and the transfer of experience and knowledge. Therefore, promotion of “DX (Digital
Transformation)” is indispensable to solve these issues in bridge maintenance by using digital technology.
Therefore, we, Eight-Japan Engineering Consultants Inc. (EJEC), a Japanese civil engineering consulting company, would like to introduce some of the most advanced DX technologies in bridge maintenance developed by our EJ Information Technology Center (EJIT Center).

2) Delta Resilience and Risk Governance Expert Forum-South and Southeast Asia
Join us in the Delta Expert Forum and enrich your understanding about the Asian Deltas on Thursday, 28 April 2022 16:00-18:00 hrs Bangkok time (GMT+7.00)
As we are aware that River Deltas in South and Southeast Asia are being altered due to the natural and anthropogenic causes, and delta dwellers and associated life, livelihood and development are becoming more vulnerable. It is of utmost priority for us to create a space where we match the real challenges of the areas with the authorities who invest and address those challenges via plans/ policies and others.
Disaster Preparedness Mitigation and Management (DPMM), AIT in collaboration with Living Deltas Hub (LDH) and Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) is organising the ‘Delta Resilience and Risk Governance Expert Forum- South and Southeast Asia' to strengthen the research and expert/ administration coherence.
This forum brings together dignitaries who have been closely invested in research and administration in the South and Southeast Asia region to deepen our understanding of the environmental and anthropogenic challenges, followed by the necessity of the amalgamation of science and governance perspectives in building the delta resilience. The insights and discussion outcomes of the forum will contribute to linking the actual on site experience and realities in the current and future plans, policies and strategies for strengthening the coherence, improving delta resilience, and eventually achieving delta sustainability.
Please feel free to circulate to your network.
