1) The 2nd Seminar BCG Model in the Health and Wellbeing Sector
We are pleased to invite you to the second seminar on Thailand’s Bio-Circular-Green Economy Model: Awareness Raising, Capacity Building and International Perspective. This seminar will focus on the ‘Health and Wellbeing Sector’ and will be held on Monday, 25 July 2022, 13:30 to 16:05 hrs Bangkok Time GMT+7 (Virtual). The speakers will introduce the BCG model and broadly describe how it is being applied.
The Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) model has been conceptualized to underpin Thailand 4.0. It is an integration of bioeconomy, circular economy and green economy. Bioeconomy involves the production of renewable biological resources and the conversion of these resources into value-added products. Circular economy aims at reusing and recycling resources. Green economy aims to keep the economy, society and environment in balance, leading to sustainable development.
The BCG model represents a strategy to drive the country’s economic and social development. As such, the BCG model is expected to provide further impetus for implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, the BCG model is expected to be a focus of discussion at the 2022 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting, chaired by Thailand.

2) The SDG Hybrid Webinar: Innovations for Sustainability
Warm greetings. Kindly find the invitation to attend the SDG hybrid webinar: Innovations for Sustainability on 5th August 2022.The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), is organizing the SDG hybrid webinar,
Innovations for Sustainability: Part 1 Sustainable Infrastructure for Circular Cities and Part 2 Innovations and Startups in the Water Sector on 5 August 2022, 13:30-17:00 ICT (Thailand time) at the AIT Entrepreneurship Center and online. As the world is starting to recover post-pandemic, we have to look at the two important topics that we need to address to build back better: cities and water.
Sustainable Infrastructure for Circular Cities focuses on building capacity to create an enabling environment (policies, financing, technologies, business models, and stakeholder engagement) to replicate and scale up good practices that support SDG #11 Sustainable Cities and Communities.Innovations and Startups in the Water Sector provides a dialogue among various stakeholders to understand the drivers and challenges for the innovations and startups to support SDG #6 Clean Water and Sanitation. One lesson that the COVID-19 pandemic taught us is that we can change. We have seen many cities and organizations adapt their practices and strategies to cope with the challenges brought by the pandemic. As we move forward together, let’s look at our cities and see what we can contribute to making our community better, greener, and more sustainable.
