1) Youth Energy Academy (YEA)
AIT RRCAP is hosting this year’s edition of a Virtual Youth Energy Academy (YEA) at the Asian Institute of Technology from 10 to 16 October 2022. The programme is organized by AIT-RRC.AP and the Sustainable Energy Youth Network (SEYN), with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and in collaboration with other partner organizations.
The YEA is a 7-day intensive programme focusing on decentralized renewable energy (DRE) approaches to address some of the climate, energy access, and developmental challenges faced by communities. A variety of interactive sessions include do-it-together practical sessions to build simple renewable energy systems. YEA aims to foster leadership, entrepreneurship, and a “can-do” attitude while equipping young people with tools to develop renewable energy applications for communities.

We are pleased to invite you to the THIRD seminar on Thailand’s Bio-Circular-Green Economy Model: Awareness Raising, Capacity Building and International Perspectives. This seminar will focus on the ‘Bioenergy, Biomaterial and Biochemical Sector’ and will be held on Friday, 26 August 2022, 13:30 to 16:05 hrs Bangkok Time GMT+7 (Virtual). The speakers will introduce the BCG model and broadly describe how it is being applied.
The Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) model has been conceptualized to underpin Thailand 4.0. It is an integration of bioeconomy, circular economy and green economy. Bioeconomy involves the production of renewable biological resources and the conversion of these resources into value-added products. Circular economy aims at reusing and recycling resources. Green economy aims to keep the economy, society and environment in balance, leading to sustainable development.
The BCG model represents a strategy to drive the country’s economic and social development. As such, the BCG model is expected to provide further impetus for implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, the BCG model is expected to be a focus of discussion at the 2022 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting, chaired by Thailand.
