Inaugural Session Social Business Day 2019

9:00 AM, 28 June, Centara Grand, Central World, Bangkok

YCA - the Yunus Center at AIT is celebrating AIT's 60th Anniversary with a splash.  Bringing the world's largest annual gathering of the social business community to Bangkok for the first time ever!

Social Business Day 2019 is being hosted by Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus on 28 June 2019, at the Bangkok Convention Center, Centara Grand,Central World, Bangkok. We are delighted to have been asked to organize this global event, which gathers almost 1,000 delegates from over 40 countries, including leaders in government, business, academia, and citizen organizations, as well as icons of Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

AIT President Dr. Eden Woon will welcome delegates at the inaugural session along with Dr. Thapana Srivadhanabhakdi, CEO of C-asean, before the opening keynote by Professor Yunus. This year’s confirmed VIPs include HRH Queen Sofia of Spain, Dr. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Executive Secretary of the United Nations ESCAP, Mr. Emmanuel Faber, CEO of Danone and the most prominent of personalities in Thailand, representing the Royal Thai Government, and the business and citizen sectors. 

Come join us celebrate transforming AIT into a hub of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.  Be inspired by thought leaders in Social Impact and Enterprise-led Development.  Hear how Social Business models are reaching vulnerable groups, helping build resilient communities in over 50 countries. Come share our joy as we mark 10 years of YCA, and its replication in 73 leading universities across all continents.  

Conference fees are waived for AIT faculty and staff if you register before 14 June.  A service fee of 400 Baht is payable to the event organizers.  But we'll make up for it by offering the first 50 AIT delegates to register a free SBD2019 commemorative T-shirt.  Everyone registering later can claim a commemorative SBD2019 fridge magnet.

(ii)Condolence: Passing away of the father of Mrs. Nanette Gatela, Teacher in AITIS

 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of Mr. Manuel A. Quiero, Sr, father of Mrs. Nanette Gatela, Teacher at AIT International School, on 22 May 2019.

The interment took place on Wednesday, 29 May 2019 in Saint Anne Parish Church, Sta Fe, Leyte, Philippines.

On behalf of the AIT Community, we wish to express our heartfelt condolences and sympathies to Mrs. Nanette and her family during this time of bereavement.

(i) AC unit cleaning service for SERD building

Please be informed that AC technicians will enter SERD building for AC unit cleaning as a part of our preventive maintenance routine from Wednesday 5th to Friday 28th June 2019
It is advisable for the tenants to store your valuables away in a safe place to prevent them from being misplaced or damaged during the process of maintenance.
For AC units cleaning; if any of the tenants find the mentioned schedule to be inconvenient, please contact call center office at 5800 to arrange for another time.
