1) The MESFIA 2021 International Conference "Mastering Energy Supply for Isolated Areas"
The Sustainable Energy Transition program of the School of Environment, Resources and Development of the Asian institute of Technology (AIT) is organizing the MESFIA 2021 International Conference "Mastering Energy Supply for Isolated Areas" during 31 August to 01 September 2021 (Tuesday and Wednesday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM).
This conference is one of the activities of the AIT and ERASMUS+ collaboration project titled “Mastering Energy Supply focusing on Isolated Areas (MESfIA) – a project co-funded by the Educational, Audiovisual and Cultural Exchange Agency (EACEA) of the European Commission.
This project particularly aims to provide high quality postgraduate education on energy supply for students and professionals in the energy sector through an effective knowledge and experience sharing link between academic and research institutions in EU member countries and in Southeast Asia.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions in Thailand, this free conference will be held entirely online via Zoom and will be streamed live on MESFIA’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Mesfia/) for those who cannot join via Zoom.

The Green Startup Toolkit, a joint project of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Asia Pacific Regional Office and AIT Entrepreneurship Center (EC) was successfully launched on 5 August 2021. In continuation, UNEP and EC are organizing the capability workshop on Tuesday, 31 August 2021 at 4:00 PM (Bkk time) to equip the participants with the right tools for creating their own sustainable startup. The toolkit authors will facilitate this workshop together with UNEP, EC team, and a startup.

We are pleased to inform you that this September starting from Wednesday, 1 September 2021, special health counseling sessions will be conducted again every Wednesday and Friday by a professional psychologist. This is to provide the best possible welfare to AIT students which includes mental health counseling and wellness, especially in this challenging time of the COVID-19 pandemic and social difficulties.
The schedule on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm is online through 2 platforms: Zoom Meeting and Google Meet.
The first session will be on 1 September 2021 (Wednesday) from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The doctor can accommodate approximately 45 mins counseling and mental health promotion for each student.

6) The “Capacity Development Program on Air Quality Management and Emission Reduction of PM2.5 for Asian Countries”
AIT RRC.AP, along with partners, will organize the “Capacity Development Program on Air Quality Management and Emission Reduction of PM2.5 for Asian Countries” from 13-17 September 2021 on an online platform.
This one-week training programme is aimed to build the capacities of the Asian countries for better management of air quality and to enhance the technical capabilities of the countries to support their national efforts to address air pollution issues. The modules of the program will include air quality monitoring, emission inventory development, air quality modeling, impact assessment, and policy measures for air pollution mitigation. The program is targeting about 200 participants from Asian countries including policymakers, air quality managers, and technical staff of pollution control agencies, meteorological agencies, and associated government departments. Additionally, air quality professionals, students, young scientists are also encouraged to participate.
