Revised Schemes for Sponsored/Contracted Projects: Handling of Project Residuals

Please be informed that in its meetings in November 2015, the AIT Management approved changes in the handling of project residuals.  These are reflected in the schemes published online at http://www.ait.ac.th/research/sponsored-and-contracted-projects for easy reference.

The following stipulations in handling of project residuals will be with effect as from 2015 onwards, and will be applicable to projects opened as of 1 October 2015 onwards.  Project accounts opened prior to 1 October 2015 will be governed by the stipulations that were effective when they were opened.

Should projects have residuals at the end of the project period, half (50%) of the residuals from projects completed / closed during the year shall be credited as Operating Revenues under Research Grants to the involved PIs’ RC unless the contract stipulates that all surpluses must be returned to the sponsor/client.  The Dean will have the prerogative to provide the share to the FoS.

The other half (50%) of the project residuals will be transferred to the professional development funds (PDF) of the principal investigators (PIs) according to their involvement indicated in the project Form D.

For closed projects with no PDF distribution in Form D, all (100%) of their residuals will be credited as Operating Revenues under Research Grants to the involved PIs’ RC.
