LOOK BACK AT 2015 AND LOOK FORWARD TO 2016: MESSAGE BY PROF. WORSAK KANOK-NUKULCHAI

Dear Colleagues

First of all, I and the AIT Management take this opportunity to thank each and every member of faculty and staff for the cooperation and supports over the past year. As Faculty or staff, you are an integral part of 'the team' that have steered AIT out of its trouble mode.

In the coming year 2016, AIT will be at a critical juncture, where AIT must clearly distinguish itself (from other traditional universities) as a regional leader in the "internationalization" of higher education and professional education, and as a regional hub for "transnational and multidisciplinary research" alias "the research for mankind". This is most likely a formula that can ensure AIT's roles in the globalization age, leading to its long-term financial sustainabilty. Meanwhile for the longer term, AIT must create a strategic team that will watch out and follow the changing trends so AIT will not fall into the trap of new disruptive technologies.

On the road to success, the rule is to always to look ahead. May I also take the occasion to wish that you also reach your destination, and may your journey be wonderful.

With much appreciation, I have compiled selected AIT's activities and headline news in 2015 for your information as you may find in the attachment. In case you may be interested, I have compiled some historical photos of AIT under a set of slides called "Faces of AIT Heritage", which is available at

With warm regards,

Professor Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai

AIT President
