This event aims to provide an in-depth discussion of the key considerations for introducing new Security of Payment legislation for the construction sector in our country.
Our expert speakers will share their insights on the potential benefits and challenges of introducing such legislation, as well as provide guidance on best practices and lessons learned having regard to new legislation recently introduced in Western Australia and a proposed bill for Thailand.

2) Webinar on Accessing and Using Data and Information for Adaptation Planning

 

The Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific (RRC.AP) located at the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand invites you to join the webinar on “Accessing and Using Data and Information for Adaptation Planning”. The webinar will be held virtually and is scheduled for 19 April 2023, Wednesday, 14.00 – 15.30 HRS (UTC+7, Bangkok Time), Via Webex.

 

The science of climate change is progressing rapidly, and decision-makers need access to reliable climate data and information to identify climate risks and develop strategies for effective risk management. This webinar aims to bridge the gap between data and information with the users by introducing climate change adaptation tools that will provide an efficient way for developing countries to generate their climate-related change scenarios and predictions for use in impact studies and projects, even where capacity and resources are limited. The webinar will provide an overview of these tools and demonstrate how to access and utilize them for strategic decision-making in adaptation planning. The webinar will empower individuals and organizations involved in adaptation planning, disaster management, and climate change projects!

3) Condolence: passing away of the mother of Khun Uma Sittichai, Sr. Admin Officer, Office of International and Public Affairs

Dear AIT Family,

It is with sadness that we announce the passing away of Mrs. Khloy Sittichai, mother of Khun Uma Sittichai , Sr. Admin Officer at the Office of International and Public Affairs on 15th April 2023.

Religious rites are held from Sunday, 16th April to 20 April 2023 from 6.00 pm at Salawannasiri (VIP), Wat Sammachanyawat, 1090 Phraya Suren Rd, Bang Chan, Khlong Sam Wa, Bangkok 10510.

The cremation ceremony will be held on Saturday, 22 April 2023 at 4.00 pm.

On behalf of the AIT Family, we wish to express our heartfelt condolences and sympathies to Ms. Uma and her family during this time of bereavement.

4) Important Announcement for AIT Zoom Cloud Recording

Email from Helpdesk on 31 March 2023.

Dear all users using AIT Zoom licensed account,

As your email account is assigned with an AIT Zoom license, this is a very

important announcement for you to either delete your cloud recording (if

not needed) or download it to your computer and/or save it to google drive

(for sharing).

The maximum allocated space per account in the AIT zoom package is 500 MB

only. Please save the cloud recording to the computer once the meeting is

over every time.

*Zoom agency has sent us an official email that the zoom cloud recordings

will be disabled from April 25th, 2023 (Tuesday) if we do not clear the

current recordings from our licensed accounts.*

In this regard, kindly take this email as urgent and start backing up your

important recordings as soon as possible

6) Open Seminar on "Tips for Effective Thesis Writing and Presentation", 22 April 2023, 1:30 PM

With our colleagues, we will organize an Open Seminar on "Tips for Effective Thesis Writing and Presentation" designed to provide valuable guidance and support to master's and doctoral students who are embarking on their research journey. During the seminar, students will learn effective strategies for crafting a high-quality thesis and delivering an engaging presentation that showcases their research findings.

The seminar will cover a range of topics, including:

Understanding the components of a strong thesis: Students will learn how to structure their thesis, how to develop a clear research question, and how to write a literature review that establishes the context of their research.

Writing techniques for a polished and professional thesis: Students will learn best practices for writing clearly and concisely, organizing their ideas, and citing sources accurately.

Preparing an engaging thesis presentation: Students will learn how to create an engaging and informative presentation that highlights their research findings, uses effective visual aids, and engages their audience.

Effective communication skills: Students will learn how to communicate their research findings effectively, respond to questions confidently, and deliver a compelling and persuasive thesis defense.

Throughout the seminar, students will have the opportunity to participate in interactive exercises and receive personalized feedback on their thesis writing and presentation skills from experienced facilitators.
