2) Seminar: The Human Side of the Organization’s Digital Transformation by Dr. Yuosre Badir

Email from Vice President for Academic Affairs on 11 November 2023

Dear AIT Community,

You are cordially invited to a Zoom Seminar to be delivered by Dr. Yuosre Badir, a faculty in the School of Management.

Seminar Topic: The Human Side of the Organization’s Digital Transformation

Current research indicates that only a limited number of organizations are adequately prepared to confront the challenges presented by digital transformation (DT). Consequently, many fail in its implementation. One possible reason is that these organizations initiate technological changes without fostering the necessary mindsets among their human resources (HR) to adopt and implement DT successfully. In this seminar, I provide an overview of three distinct studies that focus on the HR (employees and leadership) aspects of DT. Study I investigates the variability in individual employees' digital competence and their readiness for DT. This study examines the factors (i.e., employees’ entrepreneurial orientation) contributing to disparities in digital competence among employees. Study II centers on the identification of specific employee characteristics linked to a higher degree of DT readiness. The research aims to uncover the key attributes that enhance employees' effectiveness in navigating digital changes. In Study III, we explore the relationship between leadership styles and organizational DT. This study aims to determine which leadership approach is more likely to facilitate and drive higher levels of digital transformation within an organization.
